Team Approach to Surgical Care

Surgical services include:

  • Craniomaxillofacial trauma treatment. The team treats facial injuries and corrects cosmetic and functional deformities.
  • Head and neck cancer therapies. As part of the surgical oncology team, oral and maxillofacial surgeons treat cancers of the head, neck, jaw, mouth and face. We use the latest methods and a team approach to optimize care.
  • Facial reconstruction. Surgeons use advanced techniques to restore missing tissue, including microvascular reconstruction (vascular tissue of the face and neck). We use imaging techniques (CT, MRI) to provide detailed pictures of the affected area.
  • Custom models and implants. State-of-the-art technology allows us to develop custom models and implants for personalized treatment. Using these techniques, we can accurately restore facial form and function while addressing speech, swallowing and dentition (arrangement of teeth).
  • Reconstruction after skin cancer. We provide advanced facial reconstruction after Mohs surgery and other skin cancer procedures. These methods help us restore the cosmetic appearance of the face, including the nose, lips, ears and eyelids.
  • Corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery. We treat adults and children with jaw issues such as overbite, underbite, open bite and facial asymmetry. We work closely with your referring orthodontist before and after surgery to help you achieve a good outcome.
  • Jaw cyst and tumor removal. The surgeons at Nuvance Health are specially trained to remove benign (non-cancerous) cysts and tumors in the head and neck area.
