Primary care provider joins Nuvance Health in Millerton and Sharon, CT

To expand primary care access, Nuvance Health Medical Practice recently welcomed Tamar Wilms to the primary care team in Millerton, N.Y., and Sharon, Conn.

 

Wilms is a nurse practitioner, board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, with a decade of experience in healthcare, including three years at Sharon Hospital.

 

The Millerton, N.Y., resident specializes in primary care for adults, including seniors, with a focus on individualized care, preventing diseases and treating chronic illness.

 

“I became an adult gerontology nurse practitioner to address the  community's need for taking care of an aging population,” Wilms said. “I find it rewarding to help others and make a positive impact on their health.”

 

Most recently, she performed home health risk assessments and wellness exams for Signify Health, a national home healthcare company. She also worked as a registered nurse and charge nurse in the emergency room at Sharon Hospital and as a nurse manager at Lutheran Care Center in Poughkeepsie. 

 

In her spare time, Wilms enjoys classical rock, alternative, pop and country music, as well as doing puzzles of landscapes to unwind.
