As a cardiologist, Jasjit Bhinder, MD, dedicates her time to caring for the sickest patient population: those with heart failure.
“My greatest reward is taking care of a sick cardiogenic shock patient in the hospital and then following up with them in my office once they have recovered,” Dr. Bhinder said.
Dr. Bhinder recently joined Nuvance Health and sees patients at The Heart Center in Poughkeepsie and New Windsor. The Heart Center, a division of Hudson Valley Cardiovascular Practice, P.C., is part of Nuvance Health Medical Practice.

Dr. Bhinder is board certified in cardiovascular disease and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology. She earned her medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada and completed her residency in internal medicine from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, NY.
Following residency, Dr. Bhinder pursued a cardiology fellowship at New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY, and an advanced heart failure and transplant fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital in New Haven, Conn.
Dr. Bhinder said she provides personalized care in a supportive environment.
“I believe in open dialogue and communication,” she said. “Understanding all aspects of your care is key to your treatment.”

Dr. Bhinder grew up in Newburgh and currently lives there. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, hiking and going to shows.
“I’m excited to be back and to serve the area that I grew up in,” she said.
