Former Western Connecticut Health Network executive returns to Nuvance Health to lead financial, IT and supply chain operations.

Dan DeBarba has joined Nuvance Health as its Chief Financial Officer. DeBarba brings decades of financial leadership from multiple healthcare organizations, including more than nine years at Western Connecticut Health Network hospitals in Norwalk, Danbury and New Milford. Throughout September, he will partner closely with retiring CFO Steve Rosenberg to transition into his new role.

“I am thrilled to be back working with colleagues new and old at Nuvance Health, especially during such an exciting time of opportunity and growth,” DeBarba said. “The Nuvance Health team has the same passion and drive I remember. I look forward to working with the whole team to continue building robust programming to better serve our patients, communities and employees.”

In his role as CFO, DeBarba will lead all Nuvance Health financial, contracting, supply chain and information technology teams.

“We welcome Dan back on our team to provide steadfast leadership of Nuvance Health’s financial operations,” said Dr. John Murphy, President and CEO of Nuvance Health. “Dan’s extensive experience, coupled with his firsthand knowledge of our organizational values, culture, workforce, systems and operations make him the ideal CFO of Nuvance Health.”

Prior to Nuvance Health, DeBarba served as CEO of Norwalk Hospital and later President of Danbury Hospital and New Milford Hospital as part of the legacy Western Connecticut Health Network. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and CFO of Catholic Health, a system on Long Island encompassing six hospitals, more than 1,000 employed physicians and 17,000 employees.
