What it means for you
doctors to serve the healthcare needs of you and your family, every day
hospitals across two states that offer a higher level of care, whenever and wherever you need it
individuals served through our system who make us their destination of choice for better care in our region
You told us you value a partner who stands for something beyond what is expected.
We’re committed to living by our four foundational values:
We're committed to being personal:
We focus on how we treat people personally, as well as clinically
We embrace our imagination:
We always challenge the expected, inspire curiosity and never settle
We practice being agile:
We stay open-minded and overcome barriers by embracing change
We stay connected:
We’re one team for our patients. That means we work together, share ideas and push beyond silos
This mindset and shared commitment enables us to deliver on the idea of pursuing impossible. In doing so, we will redefine what is expected for our patients and challenge what healthcare can be.
Frequently Asked Questions
Health Quest (HQ) and Western Connecticut Health Network (WCHN) united to form a new integrated, nonprofit health system. The name for the new health system is Nuvance Health (pronounced NEW-vance). The new organization combines two health networks into one, serving patients and communities across New York’s mid-Hudson Valley and western Connecticut with more convenient, accessible and affordable care.
HQ and WCHN formed a single, innovative health system so we can bring more healthcare programs and services to the communities we serve. By joining forces, we will expand our reach so we can help even more people optimize their health, prevent disease and manage chronic conditions.
At Nuvance Health, we exist to pursue impossible, so we can improve the lives of every person in our community.
We are driven by the fact we share an innate truth, a common bond and way of thinking. Being provocative is part of who we are and by tapping into the key ideas of our brand-never settling, challenging the status quo, embracing change and exploring what’s possible- we can discover for ourselves what would happen when we ask and act on What if?
The idea of “what if?” embodies that spirit and enables us to take action from inspiration. It expresses our need to be challengers, ask the questions no one else does and pursue the impossible in all that we do.
The main benefits to consumers include access to greater breadth of services, such as more specialty physicians and population health programs.
Additional expected benefits include the use of data analytics to enhance quality and safety and improve health outcomes. Also, we expect to grow medical education and learning to shape the future of medicine that best serves the needs of our communities.
Nuvance Health will also fund new investments in research, technology and facilities, so we can uphold our promise to offer our communities the most advanced specialty care, close to home.

Not immediately. The long-term plan is to create a fully integrated network of providers across HQMP, The Heart Center and WCMG. Until then, we’ll operate as we do today, yet under one consolidated health system.
The name Nuvance Health, is a combination of the words “new” and “advance”, reflecting our mission to continually make progress and pursue impossible, to enhance the health and well-being of our patients and communities
